Robert Kalina (1955, Vienna) is an Austrian designer. He trained at the Vienna Federal Training and Research Institute of Graphic Arts. He has been employed by the National Bank of Austria since 1976 and by the Oesterreichische Banknoten und Sicherheitsdruck GmbH since 1998. There, he was a pupil of Roman Hellmann. He has designed all Schilling banknotes since 1982. He came to international prominence when he was chosen as designer of the first Euro banknotes in 1996, among 43 other entries.
