Вже не 7 мільярдів: кількість людей на Землі досягла нової рекордної цифри

За наявними у Відділі економічних і соціальних питань відомостями, 15 листопада кількість населення на Землі мала б досягнути позначки 8 мільярдів. Розповідаємо, яка країна невдовзі обійде Китай у питанні густонаселеності.

Китай втратить титул густонаселеної країни

За даними аналітиків, замість Китаю цей титул носитиме Індія. Вона випередить цю країну у 2023 році. Про це йшлося у звіті, опублікованому у Всесвітній день народонаселення.

Тоді Генеральний секретар ООН Антоніу Гутерреш зауважив, що цьогоріч ми очікуємо на народження восьмимільярдного мешканця Землі. Водночас він відзначив, що це чергове нагадування про те, що всі ми повинні відповідати за турботу про планету, а також один одного.

Додамо, що останні прогнози ООН свідчать про те, що у 2030 році населення зросте до 8,5 мільярда, а у 2050 ця позначка сягне 9,7 мільярда. Пік народжуваності припаде на 2080-і роки та сягатиме 10,4 мільярда. На тому ж рівні він може залишатися до 2100 року.

Народжуваність за останні десятиліття впала

Наявні дані свідчать про те, що народжуваність помітно впала у багатьох державах. Це явище спостерігається упродовж останніх десятиліть. Згідно з прогнозами, населення 61 країни або регіону скоротиться на 1 або більше відсотків з 2022 по 2050 роки. Причиною цього стане стабільно низький рівень народжуваності. Також на це вплине високий рівень еміграції.

Натомість понад половина прогнозованого зростання світового населення до 2050 року припаде на 8 країн. Мовиться про Демократичну Республіку Конго, Єгипет, Ефіопію, Індію, Нігерію, Пакистан, Філіппіни, а також Об’єднану Республіку Танзанію. Країни Африки на південь від Сахари внесу понад половину очікуваного приросту на той час, кажуть аналітики.
